DormGlide Terms of Service
Welcome to DormGlide, a marketplace where students at supported universities buy and sell used goods with other students on their own campus. By creating an account or using DormGlide, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who can use DormGlide
You must sign up with a school email address from a supported university and confirm it. Your account belongs to your campus market: you see, and are seen by, students at your school only. You must be at least 17 years old and affiliated with your school.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account and what happens on it. Keep your password to yourself. One person, one account. We may suspend accounts that misrepresent identity, harass others, or abuse the platform.
3. Listings and conduct
List only items you own and can hand over. No prohibited items (weapons, alcohol, drugs, stolen goods, counterfeits, anything illegal or against your school's code of conduct). Photos and descriptions must be of the actual item. Be honest about condition. Treat other students the way you'd want to be treated in the dining hall.
4. Payments — DormGlide never handles money
DormGlide does not process, hold, or transfer money. All payment happens directly between buyer and seller, in person at handoff, using cash or a peer-to-peer app (such as Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App) that the two of you choose. DormGlide is not a party to your transaction, takes no fees from it, and cannot refund, reverse, or guarantee any payment. The rule we recommend and repeat throughout the app: pay at pickup, after you've seen the item, never before.
5. Meetups and reservations
Deals complete in person on or near campus. Meet in public campus locations. A reservation on a reserve-ahead listing is a mutual commitment, not a contract of sale: either side may cancel before handoff, and no money is owed for a cancelled reservation. Repeated no-shows may affect your seller rating and account standing.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. You give DormGlide permission to display them to students on your campus so the marketplace can work. Don't post content you don't have the right to share.
7. Ending your account
You can stop using DormGlide at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
DormGlide is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running and safe, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not responsible for the condition of items, the conduct of other users, or losses arising from transactions between users. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable law that cannot be limited.
9. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms in a meaningful way, we'll show you the new version in the app and ask you to accept it before continuing. The version number and date at the top tell you what you accepted.
10. Services (Glyde)
Glyde lets students offer services — tutoring, hair and beauty, tech help, photography, moving help, pet sitting, fitness coaching, music lessons — to other students on their campus. A student offering a service ("provider") is an independent individual, not an employee, contractor, or agent of DormGlide. DormGlide is not a party to any service arrangement and does not vouch for a provider's skills or results.
Not allowed on Glyde: childcare or any service involving minors; medical, dental, or mental-health services; anything that requires a professional license; and academic work that will be submitted as someone else's own (tutoring is welcome, ghostwriting is not). Providers must be at least 18. Payment happens directly between you at the session — Section 4 applies in full.
Rides. Students may offer local rides (for example to the airport, a store, or a nearby town) to other students on their campus. A student offering rides must hold a valid driver's license, drive a vehicle that is registered and insured, and follow all traffic laws. DormGlide is not a transportation provider, does not verify licenses, insurance, or driving records, and is not responsible for what happens during a ride. Riders and drivers each accept that risk and are encouraged to confirm insurance coverage before the trip.
